Our Patners

Mandela Community Development program is working in partnership with guidance and support from the government institutions and non- profit organizations.

In local capacity building Mandela Community Development Program is working with RICCATTI College in community participatory Community Forest Management as well as participatory tree planting and tree adoption by Women groups, Youth groups, School children, Colleges and local leaders

1. Forest Restoration at Nzaui Hill

We lead one of Kenya’s most ambitious community-led forest restoration programs on Nzaui Hill (Makuli Forest Station). MCDP has been allocated 250 acres to restore indigenous tree cover.

2. Community Water Project – Ngulwa Village

In partnership with Japan Embassy, Tana Athi Water, Postal Corporation, and Makueni CDF, MCDP completed a water project serving over 2,000 people.

3. Tree Seedling Nursery – Kyeeko

Established in 2017. Currently holding 100,000 seedlings (⅔ indigenous).

4. Beekeeping & Livelihoods Programme

We introduced 50 beehives after training staff at the Ministry of Livestock’s Bee Institute. Goal: encourage each buffer-zone household to own a beehive.

5. Climate Education Through Arts & Culture

After attending Kusi Ideas Festival 2022, MCDP adopted the use of arts, music, poetry, drama, and storytelling to communicate climate change in simple, relatable ways.
